Malaysian Life Reinsurance Group Berhad (ML Re) is Malaysia’s first local life reinsurer, incorporated on 21 January 1997 as a joint venture between the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) and Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (RGA), with equity participation of 70% and 30% respectively.
ML Re combines a strong local presence and deep understanding of the domestic market with global industry expertise. By 2007, the Company had attained the largest life reinsurance market share in Malaysia and continues to partner with all Malaysian life insurers.
Today, ML Re has expanded beyond traditional reinsurance to offer reinsurance and retakaful solutions, supporting clients through innovative, insight-driven approaches. Building on its strong foundations, ML Re remains committed to delivering resilient and sustainable growth for its partners in an increasingly dynamic risk landscape.
